Plants Endemic to Kansas
Two vascular plants are considered endemic to Kansas.
- Staw-flower wild-buckwheat (Eriogonum helichrysoides) is found only in the chalk prairies in western Kansas.
- James' wild-buckwheat (Eriogonum jamesii var. simplex) is found in same general area as above; the species is widespread in the Great Plains and Rockies, but this variety is endemic to KS
