Enjoy gardening? Then plan to attend the special program and book signing by Alan Branhagen, Horticulture Director of Powell Gardens, being cosponsored by Jayhawk Audubon Society, DG CO Master Gardeners, and the Kaw Valley Native Plant Coalition on February 2, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the new Flory Meeting Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper Avenue.
Dr. Branhagen’s book, Native Plants of the Midwest: A Comprehensive Guide to the Best 500 Species for the Garden, is available for preorder at the following link: http://bit.ly/nativeplantsevent at the discounted price of $35 each. Proceeds from the sales of the books will be shared among the three groups sponsoring the event. Cash, checks made payable to Jayhawk Audubon Society, or credit cards will be accepted the evening of the event.
During his presentation, which is geared toward homeowners and landscape professionals, Alan will offer ideas on how to enrich your landscape with native plants. The event is free to attend. Books available for preorder only and must be picked up at the event. The deadline to preorder is Jan. 17th.
