Hidden Valley Camp Spring Planting and Workday • Douglas County

Join Girl Scouts, KU students, and community volunteers as we spruce up the camp for another year of fun-filled outdoor activities for local youth. Chores of all kinds for all ages, including stream and street litter cleanup, woodpile and fire ring maintenance, honeysuckle clearing and burning, native grass & wildflower seeding, and much more. We will also be planting nearly 100 tiny native trees and shrubs as part of our ongoing native woods restoration across the 40 acres.
Tools and gloves provided, as are refreshments and project oversight. Sunscreen and insect repellent highly recommended. Bring a water bottle and wear layered clothing for outdoor work, and TOTALLY ENCLOSED SHOES. Any amount of time is appreciated, and volunteers can come and go as needed. Great for individuals and groups. Minors under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Minors 15 and above can come alone, but must prearrange for a waiver to be signed by their parent/guardian.
