Native Plants for Birds Initiative • Wyandotte County

Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 @ 6pm
Bonner Springs Public Library • 201 N. Nettleton Ave. • Bonner Springs, KS • Map

Jennifer Delisle will talk about National Audubon Society’s Plants for Birds initiative which encourages individuals and communities to grow native plants that benefit birds. By adding native plants to your yard, balcony, container garden, or public space, you can not only attract more birds but give them the best chance of survival in a modern landscape of fragmented habitat. As a partner in this initiative, the Jayhawk Audubon Society has developed information about how to create a bird-friendly yard in eastern Kansas.

Jennifer has served on the Board of Directors of the Jayhawk Audubon Society since 2001. She is the information manager for the Kansas Natural Heritage Inventory at the Kansas Biological Survey, a program that maintains information about the plants, animals, and natural communities that are sensitive, threatened, or endangered in Kansas.
