Fall Workday & Monarch Tagging at Hidden Valley Camp • Douglas County

Join the community with this annual fall workday focused on the center of our 40-acre nature camp for local Girl Scouts and other youth. A monarch tagging station and exhibit will be available for all to experience from 1-3:30 pm. Main tasks include working in the native plant butterfly garden, harvesting and spreading seeds, mulching trees, and removing invasive honeysuckle shrubs. Other tasks will be a thorough cleaning of the cabin and outbuildings, campsite renovations, stream litter pickup, woodpile stocking and more. Jobs for all ages and abilities and is an excellent family or group activity. Any amount of time is appreciated!
Tools, gloves, instruction/project leadership and refreshments provided. Please carpool if possible and park in the main lot, then walk down the road to the cabin to check in.
Everyone must sign a Hold Harmless Waiver. No unaccompanied minors below age 15. Fifteen and above may request a parent-signed waive via email. Dress appropriately for outdoor work and the weather; totally enclosed shoes must be worn. Sunscreen and insect repellent generally needed.
RSVP not required, but is appreciated via a quick email.
