Anderson County Prairies Workday • Anderson County

Saturday, Jun 1st, 2019 @ 8:30am-1:30pm
The Nature Conservancy's Anderson County Prairies Preserve • 2420 NW Button Road • Topeka, KS • Map

Join The Nature Conservancy and Kansas Biological Survey for a prairie restoration workdays that also advance research on the best ways to restore the tallgrass prairie. Saturdays 4/6, 5/4 & 6/1.

KU doctoral student Theo Michaels will lead volunteers in support of her tallgrass prairie restoration research at Anderson County Prairies Preserve. Theo’s research addresses important questions about ecosystem restoration and incorporates care for the entire preserve. Due to the sensitivity of the plants being studied, the area can't be burned to control woody invasive species (like dogwood and blackberry) so they must be removed by hand.

This is your chance to visit a Nature Conservancy property in eastern Kansas that is normally closed to the public AND advance important research at the same time. Please RSVP at
