Celebrate National Trails Day and Prairie Appreciation Day at Hidden Valley Camp! This 40-acre semi-wilderness camp in the middle of Lawrence will be open to the public for tours, hikes and family-friendly activities on June 1st, from 9 am to noon. With over two miles of trails to explore the woods, prairie, pollinator gardens, meadows and streams, there is something for everyone! Themed guided hikes include a bird hike with Jill Baringer, Nature Photography with Jim Bresnahan, Walk with a Naturalist- Ken Lassman, a Wildflower Hike to view our tall grass prairie, butterfly/pollinator gardens, and a long flowering bioswale, and a Biochar Tour to learn how we are using this resource from burning the invasive honeysuckle. General tours available throughout the morning, or grab a map for a self-guided tour to our special places of interest!
No unaccompanied minors, strollers or dogs please. Wear sturdy shoes & bug repellent.
