3 Mile Walk in the Lawrence Nature Park • Douglas County

Saturday, Jan 25th, 2020 @ 2-4pm
Lawrence Nature Park • 201 Folks Rd • Lawrence, KS • Map

The Kansas Land Trust grew out of tragedy in 1990. During the darkness of night, the pristine Elkins Prairie west of Lawrence was plowed. Turning over that prairie sod thwarted attempts at preserving this prairie. All that biodiversity was lost. Seeking to forever preserve our special places catalyzed our conservation work over the past three decades. With you this year, we honor those who shaped our conservation work as we invest in preserving more special places.

Please walk with us on Saturday, January 25, starting at 2 PM in the Lawrence Nature Park. This 3-mile walk launches our commemoration of our 30 years protecting special places like these woodlands. We will be actively walking to complete our 3 miles within two hours. Please RSVP with jjost@klt.org.

This January walk in the Lawrence Nature Park launches a series of walks on our protected lands throughout 2020 - our 30th Anniversary. Our goal is to offer a cumulative 30 miles of walking opportunities on our protected lands throughout this year.
