Prairie Seed Collecting at Grant Bradbury • Shawnee County
Saturday, Oct 16th, 2010 @ 1-3pm
SW University Blvd & SW Westview Rd • Topeka, KS • Map
Volunteers are needed to help collect prairie wildflower and grass seed at Grant-Bradbury Prairie Park for a wildlife restoration area at Shunga Park. We will be working with the city to restore an old brome/fescue field to a diverse planting of native wildflowers and grasses. Volunteers should wear sturdy footwear and long pants. Bring a plastic pail or paper sack for collecting seeds. No experience is necessary. All ages can help. Bottled water will be supplied.
Location: Grant-Bradbury Park
Directions: Take Topeka Blvd south to the University Blvd intersection (stoplight), go right. Take University west about half a mile - when the road curves south, you are at the driveway to the park gate. There is a small white building at the driveway. The southeast corner of the park is at SW 65th St & SW Westview Rd, Topeka, KS.
