Lawrence Hidden Valley Camp Native Woodland Restoration • Douglas County

Sunday, Nov 7th, 2010 @ 1-4pm
Lawrence Hidden Valley Camp • 3420 W. Bob Billings Pkwy • Lawrence, KS • Map

Join girl scouts, boy scouts, Friends members and others with our annual fall woodcutting and woods clearing event. Our main focus is popping out or cutting down the invasive honeysuckle shrubs that have totally invaded the woods. Extensive woods clearing using poppers, loppers, handsaws and chainsaws for those really big ones is needed. Others can treat stumps or haul brush. Other projects include transplanting saplings, cutting fire wood, stocking woodpiles, cleaning fire rings, mulching trees, wetland maintenance and much more; something for all ages. Some tools and gloves provided; bring your own if you can. Warming fires and refreshments provided by FHV: water, hot cocoa and s'mores! Wear durable clothing and enclosed shoes. Contact Durand for more information.
