Prairie Restoration Day • Ellis County
Saturday, Jan 29th, 2011 @ 9am-3pm
Sternberg Museum • 3000 Sternberg Drive • Hays, KS • Map
Join us on Kansas's 150th birthday for a "take back the prairie day" at the Sternberg Museum. We will be removing non-desirable trees (mainly cedars and mulberry) along the riparian corridor west of the Museum. Volunteers are asked to bring equipment if able but it is not necessary as we will have chainsaws, handsaws, and loppers on hand. We will cut down, trim, and pile limbs for either chipping or building with. More information about the overall project is posted on the project's website.
