Volunteers needed for our annual spring workday of cleanup, maintenance and planting. This is a 40-acre privately-owned urban wilderness camp for Douglas Co. Girl Scouts and other youth, operated by a local non- profit 501-c3. Activities will include prairie maintenance, native woods restoration (clearing out invasive honeysuckle shrubs and vines and planting natives), wood cutting, litter cleanup, and general maintenance of the camp, including campsite renovation, butterfly garden cleanup, trail maintenance, and more. Volunteers should wear durable clothing and totally enclosed shoes. Bring a water bottle, gloves, and tools if you can. Some gloves and tools provided (loppers, saws, shovels, wheelbarrows). Chainsaws and operators needed, and you can take home cut wood, especially hedge. Refreshments provided. Carpooling encouraged. Check in at the green garage anytime between 1-4pm.
