Early Arbor and Earth Days • Ellis County

Friday, Apr 8th, 2011 to Sunday, Apr 10th, 2011 @ 9am-5pm
Sternberg Museum • 3000 Sternberg Drive • Hays, KS • Map

Celebrate Arbor and Earth Days early this month. April 9-10th we will be planting the native trees and shrubs we ordered from the Kansas Forest Service out at the Sternberg Museum. We have nearly 1100 bare root plants to put into the ground. Holes will be pre-dug so it's as simple as putting them into the ground and covering back with soil. We will also cover them with wood mulch from the trees we have removed on site.
Schedule will be as follows- Friday: any time after 3 until 5ish; Saturday:9am to 5pm (or earlier if done); Sunday: noon to 5pm (if needed)
Feel free to bring the family out and share a day. You'd be amazed at how much fun kids have planting trees and knowing they are making a difference in the community. Please bring your gloves! We will supply the plants, shovels, water tanks, etc to complete the project.
