Presentation: Plant Identification • Riley County
Tuesday, Mar 27th, 2012 @ 7pm
Manhattan Church of Christ • 2510 Dickens Avenue • Manhattan, KS • Map
The Manhattan Region is planning to have an “identification refresher” to prepare wildflower lovers for Spring's arrival. The primary focus for the evening will be getting to know common plant families better as a touch-stone tool for identification. Instead of a lecture, we will work through a variety of activities in small groups. Members who are more familiar with the families will serve as facilitators/mentors for those of us for whom this may be a new approach. Everyone should bring your plant guide books (Freeman, Haddock, Barnard, etc.). In addition, several helpful hand-outs will be provided. There will also be snacks.
We will meet at 7 pm at the “old auditorium” on the upper level of the Manhattan Church of Christ, 2510 Dickens Avenue. You will need to come in the outside door on the upper level that appears to be the main entrance.Guests and KNPS members from other regions are welcome to join us. (We are lots of fun to be with.) Nancy Goulden is planning the activities and coordinating the evening. You may contact her at email@example.com or Jerry Freeze, head of the Manhattan Region at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or for more information.
