The Topeka Audubon Society is having a Sanctuary Appreciation Day on Saturday, March 31. Birding begins at 7:30am with participants meeting at Rees Fruit Farm, Hwy 4 and Hwy 24. Members of KNPS are invited to go birding, but if you would like to simply explore the Sanctuary at Lake Perry you are invited to meet there between 10 am and 3 pm and walk the trails on self-guided tours. We will also enjoy a picnic lunch. Some Auduboners will be performing trail maintenace and other work activities. The spring ephemeral wildflowers will be blooming in the woodlands of the Sanctuary. See link to Sanctuary for more a map.
From the town of Perry, drive north on Ferguson Road to 74th Street. Turn east on the gravel road and follow it south until you see a green sign noting the entrance to the TAS Sanctuary.
