This 230 acre preserve near Arkansas City features a Visitor's Center staffed by a full time naturalist. There are miles of trails through the woods and prairies, and leading to the sandbars of the Arkansas River. Visit one small remnant prairie. Butterfly tagging will also take place the day of our visit. We will meet in Winfield at the Southwestern College parking lot on Fowler Avenue at 1pm and caravan to the site. You can also meet us at the site. This is one of four tours as part of the 2012 Annual Wildflower Weekend.
