Wine and Weeds • Johnson County
Friday, Nov 2nd, 2012 @ 1pm
320 South Blake • Olathe, KS • Map
On September 29, 133 volunteers planted 1,600 native plants in the new Pollinator Prairie on the former CCI superfund site in Olathe. The garden was dedicated on October 23rd and the weeds were already taking over. Unfortunately, most of those volunteers don’t know the good from the bad “weeds” so we KNPS members are stepping up to help.
Starting at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 2, we are getting down and dirty! As we weed, we’ll celebrate the four native plant gardens that are dedicated to birds, bees, butterflies and a Monarch Waystation. Rather than whining about those weeds, we will be ripping them out and toasting their demise with wine and snacks. Please join us and bring your favorite weeding tool.
