Wildflower Walk at Snyder Prairie • Jackson County
Saturday, Sep 28th, 2013 @ 9am
Rachel Snyder Prairie • 158th St. and U Rd. • Mayetta, KS • Map
Join us as GHF hosts a wildflower walk led by Rachel Snyder Prairie Land Manager Frank Norman. Snyder Prairie is a 140-acre native and restored prairie and riparian woodland and it is only open to the public a few days each year. This will be the first fall walk held at the prairie in a number of years and it will be a great opportunity to see many of your favorite fall blooming prairie natives. We may even see a few migrating Monarch butterflies.
Snyder Prairie is located 17 miles north of Topeka on Hwy 75. To get to the prairie from I-70, take Hwy 75 to 158th St. (just south of Mayetta) Turn east on 158th St. and go 3 miles to U Rd. Turn right (south) on U Rd. and proceed another ½ mile to -the gate. Parking is available along the road.
