Join us at Chase County State Lake to see amazing amounts of wildflowers, especially butterfly milkweed. This will be a leisurely informal walk to enjoy the wonders of the prairie and identify native flora. Glenn Fell will be the official "guide" but everyone's knowledge will be called upon for an informal and fun experience. This is a KNPS Emporia Region event. Please RSVP Glenn if you plan to attend. The lake is located 2 miles west of Cottonwood Falls on Lake Road.

9 people attended the event.
Our walk was very good although wet feet was a common element. We had 9 including myself. Four were from KNPS advertising and three from the KC Hiking Club. The Hiking club had 14 signed up at one point but the gradually dropped as the date approached. Those from KNPS advertising were from Lenexa, Ark City and Allen. Except for wet feet it was great weather for June, cloudy and cool.
