Saturday, Apr 5th, 2014 @ 1pm
416 S Main Street • Scott City, KS • Map
This is a meeting for Western Regions of the Kansas Native Plant Society. We will meet at the Wheatland Broadband Building-Bryan Conference Center in Scott City. There will be a brief presentation about the native wildflowers/plants and ecosystems of western Kansas as well as a chance to meet other persons interested in native plants. Attendees will learn about the many plant adapted to the climate of the western third of Kansas. After the meeting we will do a hike at Scott State Park to see the many unique plants of the area, weather permitting. If we are able to collect seeds we could do a native plant propagation workshop after the hike. Please contact Andrew if you are interested in attending. Andrew Wright is the leader of the Scott City region of the KNPS as well as a native plant enthusiast. The presentation is free and open to the public. The hike is also open to the public but there is a fee to enter the state park.
