Elm Creek Lake Prairie Tour • Bourbon County
Saturday, May 24th, 2014 @ 9am
Elm Creek Lake • Hiatville, KS • Map
Located south and east of Fort Scott, Elm Creek Lake has a wonderful selection of mid spring flowers. Plan to meet at the corner of 135th and Grand; the park entrance, promptly while it's still cool. This tour will consist of driving around the lake stopping at about 5 locations to examine what is growing. A gentle walk. There are primitive bathroom available at the park. Do consider bringing water and snack/lunch for those desiring to eat there, hat, and appropriate shoes and pants for walking through grass that may be tall. Also sunblock and bug repellant(if needed). The lake I hear offers excellent fishing. The phone number for Elm Creek Lake is 620-224-8722.
