HorseThief Reservoir Wildflower Walk • Hodgeman County
Saturday, Jun 14th, 2014 @ 5:30pm
HorseThief Reservoir • 19005 SW 156 Hwy • Jetmore, KS • Map
Meet at the HorseThief Reservoir office at 5:30pm. We will depart for tour location at 5:45 pm for this FREE event.
We will tour the grasslands, prairies, and bluffs around the south side of HorseThief Reservoir. It may be dry there, but there are tough little plants still trying to flower! Come join the walk and lets see what all we can find in the rocky slopes!
Bring snacks, water, sunscreen, bug repellent, wildflower and grass guide books, magnifying glass, etc. Please wear long pants and hiking boots or other acceptable apparel for walking on open prairie, rocks, and uneven terrain.
This wildflower walk is in conjunction with HorseThief: The Festival. Live country music following the tour. If you care to stay for the music or camp, tickets will be available for sale, so bring the lawn chairs! More info on The Festival can be found here: http://horsethiefthefestival.com
