Day-long tour with butterfly and prairie experts to discuss native grassland management, fire, and impact on butterflies. Join us for a day in the field at Dunn Ranch, Pawnee Prairie, Lee Trail, an Kellerton (Northern MO and Southern IA prairies).

9:00am Travel to Pawnee Prairie-East Unit
9:15am Orientation & History and butterflies of Pawnee Prairie
9:20am Travel to Pawnee Prairie-West Unit
9:25am Field Tour & Butterfly sampling and identification; patch burn grazing
11:15am Travel to Lee Trail
11:40am Field Tour & Butterfly research; invertebrate refugia
12:25pm Travel to Kellerton
1:45pm Field Tour & Prairie restoration and invertebrates; prairie chicken release point;
2:45pm Travel to Pylands Pastures & Optional stop
3:15pm Field Tour & Fire effects on butterfly community; tall fescue; areas of needed research
