Go Native: From Plain to Prairie, Workshop #2 of 3: Conducting a Restoration • Douglas County
Thursday, Mar 12th, 2015 @ 6:30pm
Lawrence Public Library Auditorium • 707 Vermont Street • Lawrence, KS • Map
This three part workshop introduces the steps necessary to restore, manage, and maintain a prairie. The workshops will help landowners identify the plants are already growing on their property, understand how to conduct a restoration, and how to manage their newly restored prairie. The workshop series will also feature information about the restoration resources and tools available from area agencies. The workshops are meant for small rural landowners and are not aimed at teaching participants how to use native plants in a home garden. The workshops are followed by a tour of restored prairies.
1. How to Restore a Prairie: Tim Miller
2. Tools Available for Restoration: Randy Winchester, Douglas County Conservation District and Brad Rueschhoff, Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism
All lectures will be held at the Lawrence Public Library Auditorium, 707 Vermont St. Lawrence, KS 66044
