Snyder Prairie Workday: Brush Clearing • Jackson County

Saturday, Jun 20th, 2015 @ 9am
158th Rd & U Rd • Mayetta, KS • Map

GHF’s volunteer prairie management group, Groundhogs, meets at Snyder Prairie on the 3rd Saturday of each month of the year, except December. Snyder Prairie is a 140-acre tract of land composed of prairie and woods east of Mayetta, Kansas. Contact Frank to help.

We will cut trees and shrubs and pile debris in this tract of prairie that is overrun with woody species. It was burned this spring so it will be easier to work on this task. Dress appropriately for field work, wear boots, jeans, and a hat and bring leather gloves. Bring some loppers and a personal supply of water and perhaps a snack.
