Bob Haines Pasture, AWW Tour #4 • Riley County
Saturday, Sep 26th, 2015 @ 3:30pm
W 71st Ave • Manhattan, KS • Map
We leave the previous site at 3:30pm and will arrive at this site at about 3:45 for those meeting at the site. The Haines property is an excellent example of management for control of eastern red cedar and supports a wide diversity of plant species. The landscape is varied, with upland and valley prairies as well as patches of gallery forest. Directions from Tuttle Creek site: Go west 6.4 miles from the intersection of Kansas Highway 13 and U.S. Highway 24 (also called Tuttle Creek Blvd) and turn right onto W 71st Ave, which runs in front of the former Outpost building. W 71st will curve to the north and ends at the gate into the Haines pasture.
