Originally a wheat field, these 5 acres along Shane Creek have been managed for forb diversity. The plant list includes 130 native species with grasses. Directions: Gather at The Flint Hills Discovery Center parking lot located just east of the intersection of 3rd and Pierre Streets. Directions from Blue Earth Plaza/FHDC parking lot: Immediately after crossing the Kansas River Bridge, turn south on McDowell Creek Road (County highway 901). Proceed 4 miles to Shane Creek Lane. Turn left and follow KNPS signs.
