The SeedSavers-KC 2016 Annual Winter Seed Exchange will be taking place at the Hampton Inn and Suites on the Country Club Plaza at 4600 Summit, KCMO on January 16, 2016 from 11:00 to 2:00 pm. We are a nonprofit all volunteer organization that teaches the age old skill of saving open pollinated seeds from harvest to use at planting time. Our group promotes sustainable gardening practices and offers advice to adhere to these principles. We also negotiate with the Land Bank Trust to acquire vacant neighborhood lots for use as community gardens, present at free public speaking engagements, and operate KC’s first Seed Library.
During the Exchange we have everyone’s name in a basket that we do drawings from every 15 minutes as door prizes. We are asking local businesses to make a donation of their services or products to have as these door prizes. This is an excellent way to get your business name out to a large group of sustainable gardeners.
Our Seed Exchange reaches a tremendous audience and these are customers we feel will benefit from your services. Your business name will be displayed on the walls at our event; you will be recognized on our Facebook group page, event page, our website and a printed handout will also bear your name. Those who attend are recommended to visit your business. We are most grateful for your choice in making a donation to our event. Any business cards, flyers or handouts can be set out for public access on our donor table. They can be mailed to us at 9416 E. 68 Terr, Raytown, MO 64133 or we can pick them up at your business. We are also offering a limited number of table areas for you at the event. There is a suggested donation amount of $20.00 for the booth space. You will be able to sell merchandise at our event. If interested in this option or in making a donation please contact us through the information below.
We can send someone to pick up your donation. Thank you again for your support. We believe firmly in supporting our local merchants-local economy is an essential to a community’s continued ability to prosper.
