Seed collection at Grant-Bradbury Park • Shawnee County

Wednesday, Sep 25th, 2019 @ 5:30pm
Grand-Bradbury Park • 1400 SW 65th St. • Topeka, KS • Map

We will be walking the prairie and trail to collect seeds from desirable grasses and wildflowers to be used to reseed bare areas of the park. Any extra seed will go toward prairie restoration efforts in other natural areas in Shawnee County. The majority of this park is virgin prairie which has never seen a plow. Plant species vary through the year but October should yield well. Volunteers will have beautiful views of native prairie, trails, plant ID and seed collection tips for the target plants and whatever else we can find blooming this time of year. Contact Tom Hammer at 785-251-6863 for more information.
