Date has been rescheduled for March 2021.

Native plant enthusiasts are invited to join Kansas drone videographer Nick Abt to hike the Gant Larson Ranch, also known as Gypsum Hill Trail Rides, near Medicine Lodge in Barber County. This is a 3,300 acre ranch with horse trails, hiking trails and camping. The landscape is rugged and features scenic red dirt canyons and buttes, and hosts native plants and animals that are adapted to this landscape. The ranch is located 9 miles west of Medicine Lodge, on Hwy 160. Turn north at the "Gypsum Hill Trail Ride" sign. Please note - Google maps does not pin the correct location - be sure to follow the written directions.

Meet at the ranch at 11 a.m. to start as a group, but feel free to explore on your own. Gant Larson Ranch provides trail maps so that you can find your way around. Bathroom facilities are available.

Call 620-886-0776 to make a reservation for everyone in your group, there is a fee of $10 per person.

Dress for weather conditions expected on March 27, including layers, hiking shoes, wide brim hat, plenty of water and be sure to bring your camera. Plan for social distancing outdoors and for masks when distancing is not possible.

Hotels are available 40 minutes north, in Pratt, if you are traveling overnight.
